CONCEPTO:

El SFC (Síndrome de Fatiga Crónica o Encefalomielitis Miálgica) es una enfermedad catalogada como "rara", de difícil diagnóstico ya que presenta una larga sintomatología cambiante y presenta diferentes grados de "brotes" de actividad.

La pieza presenta dos mitades que conforman un todo.

En la parte externa aparece impresa la sintomatología, la catalogación de la OMS, y aspectos generales de la enfermedad sobre una superficie de color salmón, que lo relaciona con la piel humana y con el exterior de nuestro cuerpo, contrastado con los textos de color azul. La sigi- lata aparece mal aplicada, tapando las letras o los acentos, evidenciando el blanco de la porcelana mal cubierta ... simbolizando la aparente "normalidad" que intentan presentar los afectados ante la sociedad, cuando en realidad están enfermos y el espectador intuye en su mirada, en el leve desequilibrio al caminar o en la lentitud en el movimiento de los brazos, problemas de memoria ... que desbarata este intento de control y de normalidad construida hacia la visión de los demás.

La parte interior de las dos mitades seccionadas, presentan colores marrones y verdosos aparecen textos que nos hablan de la doble problemática a la que se enfrenta el enfermo: por un lado, la escisión de personalidad en dos, aquel que él es, y aquel personaje (el otro yo), que es la enfermedad en sí. La que dirige constantemente su actividad o la falta de ella. Es decir reflexiona sobre cómo se enfrentan los afectados a su enfermedad, lo que no se muestra en público.

Además se enfrentan a una parte de enjuiciamiento social de verse obligado a dar explicaciones públicas ante una sociedad que les rodea, que cuestiona desde un punto de vista ético sus bajas laborales , o el derecho legal a ser reconocida su progresiva incapacidad laboral, como permanente.

CONCEPT (english)

CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) is a disease classified as "rare", difficult to diagnose since it presents a long changing symptomatology and presents different degrees of "outbreaks" of activity.

 

The piece presents two halves that make up a whole.

In the external part, the symptomatology, the cataloging of the OMS (World Heath Organization) and general aspects of the disease on a salmon-colored surface, which relates it to the human skin and to the exterior of our body, contrasted with the blue texts. The salmon sigillata appears badly applied, covering the letters or the accents, showing the white of the poorly covered porcelain ... symbolizing the apparent "normality" that the affected people try to present to society, when in reality they are sick and the viewer intuits in his look, in the slight imbalance when walking or in the slow movement of the arms, memory problems ... that disrupts this attempt to control and normality built towards the vision of others.

 

The inner part of the two halves sectioned, have brown and green colors appear texts that tell us about the double problem that faces the patient: on the one hand, the split personality in two, that he is, and that character (the other me), which is the disease itself. The one that constantly directs his activity or the lack of it. That is, it reflects on how the affected face their illness, which is not shown in public.

 

They also face a part of social prosecution to be forced to give public explanations to a society that surrounds them, which questions from an ethical point of view their work losses, or the legal right to be recognized as their progressive work disability as permanent.
